PIT AREA RENOVATIONS PLANNED - PIT RESERVATIONS BEING ACCEPTED NOW.

Increased car counts at times in 2009 brought a new and welcome problem to the forefront for 2010... lack of parking space!  WVMP track personnel have been working toward a solution to the problem, while working on other issues such as the upcoming need for lighting in the pit area.  We believe we have found a way to utilize the space available better, while making it easier for the larger haulers to get in and out.  We also plan a slight enlargement of the pit area for 2010.

The map below shows the planned layout for this season.  The top of the map is where the township road is, the bottom being where the track is.  Most haulers will now park at a 90 degree angle to the township road.  Each parking space is figured at 14' wide.  Each pit will have a number plate placed in the center of the pit stall.  If the racers park straight and centered with that number plate, there will be 5-6 feet between haulers, plenty of room to open 4' side doors on enclosed trailers.

The staging area will be moved over and along the fence along the farm lane.  This will make a straight shot onto the backstretch and will make space available for a row of haulers nosed up behind the billboards.  There will still be an access road around from the turn one track exit to the backstretch to allow re-entry for cars and a quick access for safety vehicles and push vehicles.  This also creates a buffer zone to keep haulers back from the billboards in the event a part would get over the boards in a crash.

The new layout groups haulers of similar length together to make the best use of available space.  When parking, please park in an area designated for your length hauler.

HAULER LENGTH:  Measure the length of your tow vehicle and trailer when hooked up, bumper to tail.  That is the length that determines where you should park.  An additional 18 feet has been allowed to allow room for the ramp door and a car behind it.

RESERVING A PIT:  Pit spaces outlined in grey are $30/Season.  Pit spaces outlined in blue are $100/Season, and will have electric to them.  If for any reason the space you choose ends up without electric by opening night, you will have the option of choosing a different pit that does, or have the difference refunded to you ($70).

PIT RESERVATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED ON A FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED BASIS BASED ON WHEN PAYMENT IS RECEIVED.  PLEASE DO NOT ASK US TO "HOLD" A SPOT FOR YOU!  ALSO, PLEASE DO NOT ASK US TO PUT YOU NEXT TO A PARTICULAR RACER.  IF YOU WISH TO BE NEXT TO ANOTHER RACER, WE ASK THAT YOU COORDINATE IT WITH EACH OTHER AND RESERVE YOUR PITS AT THE SAME TIME SO YOU WILL BE NEXT TO EACH OTHER.

Pits may be reserved at the track office, by mail, or by phone (we can accept Visa/MC).  Send your name, division, hauler length, phone number, and your top 3 choices of pits as designated on the map below.  You will be given the available pit closest to the top of your list.  If all of your choices are gone, we will contact you for your next choice.

We know generators will be used with night racing.  Please be advised that in order to meet township zoning ordinances, we must be strict about their use.  If you use a generator, it MUST have an operative muffler in good working order.  We ask that you use it sparingly, and shut it down when you aren't absolutely in need of it (in other words, use your 12v trailer lights what you can rather than run the generator with a "light tree" all night long.  Offering power to your neighbor so only one generator is used will also help and be greatly appreciated.

AS PITS ARE RESERVED, THE LIST BELOW WILL BE UPDATED SHOWING WHO RESERVED WHICH PIT.  THAT WAY YOU WILL HAVE A GOOD IDEA WHAT PITS ARE STILL AVAILABLE.
